INTERESTING ... some tasted like that time the dentist had to shave off bits of my tooth ... that's it ... it tasted like tooth powder ... some just tasted like paper / toilet paper (i used to eat paper b/c of its high fiber content) ... :-)

Wife-beaters make me feel fat.

I found this Dilbert strip amusing, but I'm too lazy to fire up my scanner ... Here's the transcript of the strip.

(PHB = Pointed Haired Boss)

PHB: I made a few upgrades to your design, Alice.
Alice: Do you realize you're not an engineer?
PHB: I'm better! I'm a well-rounded graduate of a liberal arts college. The broad exposure to diverse topics made me what I am today - a modern renaissance man.
Alice: You scribbled out my timing circuit and wrote in "Moby Dick by Charles Dickens."
PHB: Exactly. I'll bet you didn't learn THAT in your engineering classes! (Poor engineers; their world is so small.)

That's right, poor engineers ... we are sad ... :-(

Wow ... it's good to be home ... the trip home, though, was EXHAUSTING ... first my bart ticket machine wouldn't accept my five-dollar bill. then, my bart train wasn't allowed to pull into the union city bart station 'cuz the train in front of us was being held up for a police search ... because of that, i had to wait half an hour for a bus. while waiting for the bus, two people came up to me and asked me for money. they didn't ask anyone else for money, just me. luckily i only had a ten dollar bill, which i would have given them if they looked desperate enough ... then, the bus i guess has a new route 'cuz i didn't know where we were going ... i got off at the wrong stop and had to walk probably almost a mile back to my house ... what a trip ... well, it's good to be home ... hope you all have a blessed thanksgiving ... we all have a lot to be thankful for.

DC Evangelism

I just heard from one of the people that attend h2o about something at UCSB called "contact evangelism" at the dc. It was just awesome to hear at how God is working. Basically a pair of Christians would make an effort to sit with random people at the dc. They would then try to get into a conversation with them, just about anything. Eventually they would try to steer the conversation towards spiritual issues. Thinking about it, that's a really great way to evangelize to others. I really would like to try that hear at the Foothill DC ... Anyone up for it? I'm probably too shy to do it on my own. But I mean, it seems easy to steer the conversation to spiritual stuff ... I'd just say something like, "How was your weekend?" And then I'd tell the person about how I attend BACBC and stuff ... hmmmm ... I'm excited. I believe all of us can participate in contact evangelism. It doesn't have to be at the dc, either. I just think that it's easier to talk to people and meet people at the dc. For me, though, without a partner, I'd shy away from sitting with strangers. I'm not the kind of person that is very good about starting up conversations with strangers ... well, I'll pray and see what happens.

Okay, ignore me as I step up onto my soapbox once again. If you are not interested in hearing me preach, skip this post. ANYHOOO ... I was playing piano for first hour service today. I didn't have music for the song, "Heart of Worship", so I was making it up. Anyway, I didn't remember how to play an intro for the song. Usually the intro is the last line of the chorus, but I could never remember the last line of the chorus without playing through the chorus. I decide to write down on a sheet of paper the line, "It's all about You, Jesus." Wow, it's amazing because the whole time I was playing, I kept thinking about that one line I wrote down. I find it very hard to worship God while playing piano because I'm too worried about messing up in front of everyone. Yet, this time I was reminded that my playing was only for God.

Coincidentally, the message in church today was on worship. I never was myself able to really grasp what worship is. Pastor Pat gave a definition of worship that was very helpful and that I think truly grasps what worship is. Worship is our proper response to who God is and what He has done. I was thinking to myself, "Wow, that is so true." I'm often caught up with this pre-conceived idea that worship is only singing and praising God. While that is a part of it, worship is more of a lifestyle. Worship is a lifestyle in which we live constantly amazed by who God is. That's why giving tithes and offerings is a part of worship; it is our response to who God is and what He has done which causes us to want to give back. Please pray that I live my life with a constant heart of worship.
